This Week in Tech, Race, and Gender - DINT 145
Tech trade org ISACA, in its latest report on tech workplaces and culture, limits the study to women alone, ignoring racial and other minorities in the tech industry.
Global tech trade organization ISACA published a report on workplace culture that had no mention of race or neurodiversity at all.
Instead of providing a comprehensive view of the topic, the report focused solely on the experiences of women in the workplace and how tech culture affects us as women.
Here at DINT we’re of course focused on tech race and gender. When I saw the title of the article I was excited, thinking I’d have interesting findings to share with you. I searched the report for the race portion of the document and found nothing. ISACA published, “Tech Workplace and Culture 2025 Report” on March 5.
By contrast, organizations put out several reports in the last two years that do include race and gender and its impact on a person’s experience in tech. Here are 10 of the most accurate and recent studies I could find on the topic:

Pew Research Center's Workplace Diversity Surveys
Most recent dedicated tech diversity report: "Diversity in the STEM workforce varies widely across jobs" (January 2023) ✓
General workplace DEI report: "Diversity, Equity and Inclusion in the Workplace" (October 2023) ✓
Note that several of these organizations (particularly McKinsey, Deloitte, and CBRE) follow a predictable annual cycle for their publications, so while the 2024/2025 editions may not yet be available for all of them, they are likely to be released in the coming months according to their established schedules.
Here’s the catch, the publishers of these reports released them during what I’m calling the “Golden Race Gap,” that four-year period after the murder of George Floyd and before the current administration in the U.S.
I’m interested to see whether any of the reports will see the light of day during 2025.
